RailRocket
Pricing

Pricing for indie devs, small teams, and the occasional enterprise.

Free tier is genuinely usable. Paid tiers are honest about what you get for your money — no metering trap, no per-minute compute surcharge, no “starting from” prices.

Questions we get a lot

FAQ.

Is the free tier actually free?
Yes — not free trial, not freemium-with-a-time-bomb. 3 active workspaces, 60 hours of compute per month, public preview URLs. We don’t take payment details unless you upgrade.
What counts as “a workspace”?
One running environment pinned to one Git branch. If you have main + 2 feature branches checked out, that’s 3 workspaces. Stopped workspaces don’t count.
What about compute hours?
A workspace consumes compute hours while it’s actively running. Workspaces auto-pause after 5 min of idle by default. Hacker has 60 hours/month included; Team and Org are unlimited.
Can I bring my own cloud?
Yes — on Org plans. We support AWS, GCP, and Azure. Your workspaces run in your VPC; we operate the control plane.
Is there an open-source version?
Not currently. The runtime and CLI source is mostly in private repos. We’ve been asked — we’re thinking about an OSS edition of the workspace runtime in 2026.
Annual discount?
On Org plans, yes — 15–25% depending on volume. On Team, no. We’d rather you stay because the product works than because you’re locked in.
Cancellation?
From the dashboard, two clicks. No retention call. You keep access for the rest of the billing month. Workspaces are deleted 30 days after cancellation unless you export them first (railrocket export).
